Release by WWW.PATRIOTICALLYCORRECT.ORG 2005-06-01, WWW.PATRIOTICALLYCORRECT.ORG - What`s wrong with America? Nothing that can`t be fixed by the average citizen by beating Fat Cats at their own game. Fat Cats may have dollars to buy influence, but citizens have the vote in greater and more powerful numbers. And votes can make Congresspersons quiver the way no greenback or Fat Cat can. And again, people`s interests will be served.(PRWEB) November 9, 2004 - What`s wrong with America? Nothing that can`t be fixed. {InsertImage} But it won`t be a quick fix. And it won`t happen overnight. Politicians - the Beltway Bums who are owned and operated by Fat Cat contributors with their bundles of dollar bills and fists full of unlimited credit cards -- are too well entrenched to be shaken by orthodox tactics. But a people`s movement can make their Congresspersons cringe in their Bruno Maglis by demonstrating: a) voter clout and b) a citizen funded media campaign, and, c) use of America`s free enterprise system to match step-for-step the control special interests have over elected politicians. The solution - using votes and a unique way of raising private capital to dethrone these Congressional royals -- is in the hands of every hard-working, down-to-earth citizen. It could be the wonderful swift sword that shears the puppet strings that Fat Cat special interest lobbyists have on our Congresspersons. Voters, particularly those who`ve been lulled into a sense of false futility by these power-hungry mongrels, have to break loose from their limp and lazy ways. Fat Cats may have dollars to buy influence. But citizens have the vote in greater and more powerful numbers. And votes can make Congresspersons quiver the way no greenback or Fat Cat can. With the power of the vote, Americans can beat the Fat Cats at their own game. Consider the playing field. A Fat Cat makes a move on your Congressperson. Cat pulls out a wad of cash. Congressperson swoons. He`s caught. Then the cat and mouse game is on. Then the voter steps in. No cash in hand. Just a ballot. And with the prick of a stylus or the touch of a finger on a computer screen, voters can turn a selfish, insensitive Congressperson into a has-been. Every single voter has that power. But put them all together and you`ve got a movement that can steamroller over do-nothing politicians and their Fat Cat cronies. You can dump a lousy, lip-serving Congressperson in two years. So why waste your time on a president with a four-year term or a Senator with a six-year seat in the Upper Chamber? Go for the guy in the Congressional seat. Deal with him or her, and it doesn`t really matter who`s sitting in the White House. The U.S Constitution some 228 years ago made it simple for people to rule themselves through the House of Representatives. But over time, people copped out. They forgot the power of the vote and lost interest in controlling their own future. That`s when the politicians got the upper hand. And the Fat Cats moved in and took command on Capital Hill and the White House. And what do we have to show for our outpouring of apathy? Only bloated taxes, government waste, a pointless blood-for-oil war in the Middle East, a Patriot Act that jeopardizes the few rights we still have left and corporate greed that sucks the life and energy from middle-class America. While Joe and Jane Q. Public count their wounds, the richest one percent in the nation counts their tax cut dollars. Yes, the American public is paying for all the screw-ups and partisan malfeasance that passes itself off for laws and policies. But the end is not in sight, not if voters stomp apathy into the ground and make their feelings known in vast numbers on Election Day. By watching our local Congresspersons and using the immense, collective power of our votes, we can buy America back from those special interests. If we don`t, we`ll get what we deserve and it`s not a pretty picture. Let`s Put Fat Cats on the Endangered Species List.
